Lagos CP Jimoh Parade 68 Suspects for Sundry Crimes, Recover 4 Vehicles, Sophisticated Weapons~Starimagenews.com
The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command yesterday announced the recovery of exotic vehicles worth millions with the arrest of the suspects involved in the crime. He thanked the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for making the job of securing Lagos easier as the Police now records a response time of 5 minutes. Four vehicles including 2 minibuses, an unregistered Toyota Camry, a Toyota RAV4, and a Mercedes Benz E350 were recovered, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
During the media press briefing attended by members of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja yesterday, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh said: ‘On July 12, 2025, at about 0700hrs, acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Command apprehended one Bello Aminu ‘m’ aged 26, an ex-convict suspected to have engaged in snatching an unregistered Toyota Camry which was found in his possession and, during investigation, he confessed to snatching it from one of his victims; the suspect was arrested, the car was recovered, and he is assisting the investigation to apprehend fleeing members of his gang.’
Also, ‘A lexus jeep high breed 2021 valued at above N75 million which was about to be sold for N60 Million without particulars- Suspected to have been snatched or stolen from another country other than Nigeria. No single import papers intercepted for more than two months, caught in the act and now with the suspects have no proof of ownership.’
Further, ‘A Suzuki mini bus used for one chance robbery in Lagos, five (5) suspects arrested. All suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.’
In the same vein, the Lagos Police Command made arrests of car thieves. CP Olohundare Jimoh said: ‘On July 18, 2025, at about 1400hrs, operatives of
Ikeja Division, Lagos State Police Command, while on routine patrol along Agege Motor Road, Ikeja, intercepted a commercial minibus (Korope) following
an alarm raised by a female commuter who was pushed out of the vehicle. Three suspects were apprehended at the scene. They were identified as: Bode Oludayisin ‘m’, aged 53, Michael Sowunmi ‘m’, aged
22 and David Olawaye ‘m’, aged 20. Search of the vehicle led to the recovery of one (1) Tecno Spark twenty (20) smartphone (property of a victim), one
(1) axe, two (2) concrete interlock bricks, several heavy stones, and one (1) broken bottle — all suspected to have been used in previous assaults. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects
were members of a notorious ‘one chance’ syndicate that lured victims by posing as commercial transporters and taking advantage of them at isolated
locations. One of the arrested suspects has been confirmed as a wanted gang leader linked to multiple cases of robbery in the state. The victim positively identified all three suspects. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh assured Lagosians that crime and criminality would be brought to a minimum
as the Police would continue to ensure optimal management and deployment of human and operational resources
across the entire length and breadth of the State. ‘We implore Lagosians not to hesitate to contact the police if they see any suspicious activities around them’, Jimoh said.
