On unlawful possession of arms by Nigerian youths~Starimagenews.com

Many innocent Nigerians have been killed by those always referred to as unidentified gunmen. The recent killing of five farmers in Modakeke town in Osun State is one too many. Last week, a minor was arrested for unlawful possession of an AK-47 rifle in Ogun State. Again, another young man identified as Likita was arrested for unlawful possession of 260 bullets and other weapons while going to Plateau state.

This has exposed many Nigerians to danger. Who is selling arms and bullets to Nigerian youths? This is right time for the Federal Government of Nigeria to take the issue of unlawful possession of arms and bullets by Nigerian youths with the seriousness it deserves.

These senseless killings must stop and one of the sure ways to curb it is to get to the root of how the kidnappers and armed robbers are getting ammunition to kill Nigerians. To protect innocent Nigerians and restore our nation to its lost glory of integrity, diligence and selflessness before the international community and foreign investors, I want to urge the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to summon all the service chiefs, including the Inspector General of police and  mandate them to recover all arms, bullets and other dangerous weapons from the hands of Nigerian youths who unlawfully possess them; any person who is not a security operative and has no cause to carry arms must be prosecuted
